LOCATION
Located in the leafy south west of London, the Roehampton campus is surrounded by lively and affluent areas such as Putney, Kingston and Richmond. Covent Garden, the South Bank, Soho and Westminster are just 20 minutes away by train, offering a perfect balance for anyone who wants to be in one of the world’s most vibrant cities while living on a safe and peaceful campus

ACADEMIC NOTES
London Studies modules have been developed for Study Abroad students. Modules in the London Studies portfolio make the most of Roehampton’s close proximity to central London. London is used as the classroom and you are offered the chance to experience London from an exciting academic perspective. Students may only take 2 London Studies modules each semester.

TRANSCRIPT DETAILS

Transcripts for Semester 1 will be issued in March, and for Semester 2 in August. Transcripts are sent to ISEP and then immediately released to the student’s home institution if there are no outstanding financial obligations.

LANGUAGE NOTES
I-to-I applicants whose first language is not English are required to submit a minimum IELTS score of 6 overall with no less than 5.5 in any band, or equivalent qualification. Please note that UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) will not accept TOEFL as proof of English ability for any student visa application.

Students who do not meet the minimum English language requirements can take a Presessional English course during the summer before your ISEP programme begins. The 5, 10 and 15 week courses are designed to help you to get the most from your studies at Roehampton.

SPECIAL ACADEMIC CONDITIONS
There is a tuition fee charge of £1920 per module for London Studies modules for Exchange students. This fee is not charged to Direct students as it is rolled into the Direct tuition fee. London Studies modules attract a supplementary charge (an additional cost not covered by the ISEP program) in the region of £80-£150 to cover the costs of field trips and excursions.

HINTS FOR RESEARCHING COURSES
Students are able to study a maximum of 60 credits per semester (equivalent to 30 ECTS) and the credit value per module (10 or 20) is indicated by the first set of numbers in the module code.

Go to the Study Abroad Module Catalogue and select 8 modules in order of preference. We do not guarantee module availability so the additional courses act as a backup.

Students must meet any prerequisites detailed in the module description and the International Office at Roehampton will validate module selection.


HOUSING AND MEALS
The University provides standard accommodation on campus comprising single bedrooms, shared bathrooms and shared kitchen. Private bathrooms may be requested at an additional cost, subject to availability. There are some rooms suitable for students with a disability.

Students can use their kitchen for cooking meals or purchase meals from a variety of cafeteria, dining halls and snack bars on campus.

Exchange students receive a stipend to cover expenses for groceries and/or meals. The stipend does not apply to ISEP Direct students.

ESTIMATED PERSONAL EXPENSES

Students are responsible for all personal expenses including optional fees, books, local transportation, entertainment, etc. The actual amount needed will vary depending on personal lifestyle and is estimated at £250 per calendar month.

ORIENTATION
New international students receive a warm and friendly welcome to Roehampton each year with our orientation programme. Students benefit from programme inductions, campus tours, London orientation and the opportunity to join clubs and societies at the ‘Freshers Fair’. This is an excellent opportunity for new students to meet new friends and get to know the staff at the university at the beginning of their programme.

STUDENT ACTIVITIES
The Student Life Office – a partnership between the University, Roehampton Students Union, the Colleges and the academic Departments – exists to provide you with a dynamic, exciting and relevant extracurricular experience. With more than 60 societies and sports clubs, there is something for everyone at Roehampton – and if we don’t already have what you’re looking for, we can help you to make it happen.

University is your chance to acquire skills and life experience that will prove invaluable in your future career. The Roehampton Students Union (RSU) provides a range of opportunities and volunteering projects, helping you to build an impressive portfolio of personal attributes.

RSU has approximately 35 societies, covering a wide range of interests, believes and activities, and providing the perfect way to meet like-minded people, and make friends. The societies are supported by RSU and Student Life Office, but are run by students, for students. RSU also provides an entertainments programme that includes weekly events such as the Bop, Fez Club and larger events including Freshers’ Week and the highlight of the year – the Summer Ball.

Sport Roehampton provides high-quality sport, physical activity and health services for Roehampton students and staff, the local community and elite athletes. Each of its clubs is open to all, and most offer coached sessions, recreational sessions and opportunities to compete.

At Roehampton you’ll find the buzz of one of the most exciting capital cities right on your doorstep. London is a fantastic place to be a student and studying in south west London means that whatever you’re looking for, whatever you’re into, you won’t go short of things to do! Whether you’re after film, music, sport, nightlife, theatre, fashion or art you’ll find it all here. London is also the jumping off point for many European adventures. You can take the Eurostar train from St Pancras International station to Paris for a weekend or hop on to any of the budget airlines operating out of London’s airports and go to almost any European city. Prague, Dublin, Barcelona and Rome are all firm favourites with our students.
