The Université de Caen offers a summer intensive language program for an immediate immersion into French culture. Students combine French Language courses with an optional module of their choice. Optional excursions are offered on weekends, and students have the opportunity to stay in a University Residence or with a host family. The program offers a great opportunity to discover the rich cultural and historical history of Normandy!

ISEP-Direct Summer for all ISEP member students
Students enroll in 45 hours of French Language courses based on their French language level. Previous knowledge of French is not required. In addition to French Language courses, students will then choose one of the following optional modules (30 hours):
CULRTURE & HERITAGE: (Session 1 & 2) Embark on a journey into French language and culture through French gastronomy or art & literature.
WORLD WAR II HISTORY: (Session 1 Only – Taught in English) Experience the events of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy through conferences, testimonies, and excursions.
FRENCH CINEMA: (Session 1 Only – B1 Language Level Required) Travel through the history of French Cinema, from 1895 silent short films to the 1990s.
EQUESTRIAN NORMANDY: (Session 2 Only) Discover the richness of the Normandy equine sector through thematic visits (sport, breeding, research, leisure). Higher program fee is required.
BUSINESS & MANAGEMENT: (Session 1 & 2 – Taught in English) Acquire the key tools for international business: innovation management, team management and marketing.
*Students MUST choose a module when submitting their application. Keep in mind that modules may NOT be offered if a sufficient number of students do not apply.
Students can choose one session or two sessions. The cost per session is listed below.
French language and culture courses are offered for beginner, intermediate, and advanced students. For most modules, no prior French knowledge is needed. Students wishing to participate in the French Cinema module must have at least 3 semesters of University level French.

Equestrian Normandy: An additional fee of $400 will be applied.
Students can choose to stay in the University Residence or with a Host Family. Students who stay in the Residence Hall are NOT provided meals. Students who choose to stay with a host family will be provided breakfast and dinner
Founded in 1432, the Université de Caen enrolls 26,000 students including about 2,600 foreign students from 50 countries.
A growing city with a population of 200,000, Caen is famed for its two Roman abbeys and its 11th-century castle which houses a museum. Normandy's beaches and monuments make it an enjoyable area to visit. Paris is about two hours away by train.
